Osprey's tour operating software is installed in all sectors of the travel industry, which include retail travel agents, tour operators who have a chain of shops, shops with a tour operation upstairs, cruise lines, car ferry operators, inbound operators, as well as a wide range of tour operators. LIVE WEB BOOKINGS Your Web booking engine from Osprey will interact directly with the live database. It is not a fill-in form, and works hand-in-hand with the Web Content Management system. Accommodation, flights, optional excursions, and packaged itineraries are displayed on the Web from the live central database, not a copy. Availability, dates, and prices are displayed in an easy-to-understand table. When the customer has browsed around, chosen his holiday, and added extras, the address is created from the postcode (UK). Credit card authorisation is live, and the booking is made immediately on the live database. The booking can be stored as a quote if you wish. You can replace your old static Web site in gradual stages, perhaps starting with brochure requests, then displaying arrivals for reps abroad, next taking live bookings on the Web, and finally displaying all static content (hotel pictures and descriptions, jobs, tariffs, special offers, etc) directly from the database. The colours, choice of fonts, images, and the appearance is all under your own control with cascading style sheets. RESERVATIONS Osprey displays the availability of the whole package at a glance, together with the prices plus any relevant supplements for the party composition. A tour may consist of any combination of charter flights, flight allocations, hotels, transfers, excursions, ticketable events such as sports matches or concerts, cruises, car rentals and overland journeys. You can tailor each booking, such as add alternative flights (eg from Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, or a business class upgrade), add low-cost airline sectors, swap in a different room type or a different hotel, choose a different rental car grade, change the number of nights, add extra excursions, upgrade a cruise cabin from your allocation or live from Amadeus, or specify different room combinations in different centres. As you change the proposed itinerary, the pricing is recalculated dynamically. OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION Invoices, rooming lists, flight manifests, tour leader itinerary and group vouchers, passenger itineraries, vouchers, etickets, evouchers, emails to hotels for late bookings, reminders, etc, flow automatically from the reservation. A booking that runs normally is "untouched by human hand". ACCOUNTING Incoming receipts from the client or agent update the booking, not the invoice. Osprey is APACS-70 approved, and if you have a merchant number, you can enjoy direct submission of credit card authorisation and settlement batches. Accruals for payments to suppliers are made from the booked sectors, and supplier invoices matched to the relevant sectors on screen. Financial accounts are totally integrated.
