Their pioneering review and community area VJVLounge, has been developed by social media innovators Digital Visitor and built on the Visitor Review application.
The platform was created for Voyages Jules Verne because they wanted to utilise the benefits of social media, networking and user-generated content with their existing travellers to encourage greater interaction and foster increased loyalty, whilst attracting prospective travellers through peer influences, a fundamental role in the decision making process.
VJVLounge is a valuable and informative community whereby existing Voyages Jules Verne travellers can re-connect with each other and share travel experiences.
Since the launch in August 2010, VJVLounge has had over 700 members join, gathered a huge amount of content including over 1,500 photos and has attracted over 50,000 views.
Perhaps one of the most significant statistic is the average browse time of 4 minutes indicating visitors and members are compelled by the attractive, engaging and relevant content and are really taking notice of what is being posted to the community site.
In addition, it is attracting approximately 1,000 unique visitors per week, of which 23% are driving through to the main vjv.com website.
The Travel Marketing Awards is organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing's Travel Industry Group (CIMTIG) and is the only event of its kind to recognise marketing excellence in travel.
The objective of the awards is to reward and raise standards across the industry.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony held at the Intercontinental London Park Lane on Thursday 24th March 2011.
