The app enables hyper-localised and hyper-personalised in-destination visitor information to be delivered, extending the visitor journey from the initial planning phase all the way through to the actual in-destination experience using powerful location-based services.
Visitors to destinations powered by New Mind's eTourism solution simply download the new iPhone App to access a rich, interactive guide to the destination. Information on their location in relation to the surrounding accommodation, attractions and events is instantly available, displayed in easy to read map view or list view format.
Functionality includes:
- Keyword search
- Product type filters e.g. B&B, Hotels, Self catering
- Directions from where you are right now
- Icon driven menus (accommodation, attractions,events and eating & drinking)
- Choice of Map and List views
- Add to favourites option
Tourism product information is delivered directly from New Mind's Destination Management System (DMS) and is presented in clear, scrolling pages of descriptive content and imagery.
What was previously an illusive promise of technology convergence has now become a game-changing reality and for the tourism industry, this represents an unprecedented opportunity.
